Competition: International Friendly
Market: Ireland to win against Iceland
Odds: 11/10 @ Bet 365
Republic of Ireland welcome Iceland to the Aviva Stadium in Tuesday’s international friendly, and are favourites to come out on top given their impressive form in comparison to the defeats suffered by the visitors in recent games.
Martin O’Neill’s Republic of Ireland side have been enjoying a fine run of results ahead of their clash with Iceland, boasting four wins and two draws from their last six games in all competitions. Ireland are immediately coming off the back of a goalless draw with Wales, and haven’t conceded a goal at home since June 2016.
Iceland are underdogs ahead of this week’s clash as a result. The visitors have struggled for consistency of late, suffering two defeats from their last three games. They won their last game but it was against Kosovo, coming after unanswered losses to Chile and Mexico. And the contrasting form between the two sides might yield a home win on Tuesday.
While only a friendly, Ireland will be keen to keep their fine run of form going and should have enough to see past Iceland at the Aviva Stadium. As a result, Bet 365 are giving odds of 11/10 for the Republic of Ireland to win against Iceland.
