Competition: International Friendlies
Market: Republic of Ireland to win against Switzerland
Odds: 24/13 @ 888 Sport

The Republic of Ireland host Switzerland at the Aviva Stadium tonight in an international friendly as both sides step up preparations for this summer’s European Championships. It’s sure to be a competitive game, but both teams will use the friendly nature to test out fringe players, so it could be a close affair this evening.

Switzerland are the stronger side, but they could well come unstuck to an Ireland side always tough to beat in their own backyard. World champions Germany were one of the sides to lose at the Aviva Stadium in the qualifiers so Martin O’Neill’s men are no slouches anymore.

Three wins and two draws from their last five home games sees Ireland in good shape to come out on top. As for the visitors, Switzerland are also coming off the back of fantastic form from the qualifying campaign, winning seven of their last eight games in the group.

Switzerland were playing against lower quality sides in the group, and Ireland will be one of the stronger teams they’ve come up against in some time which could see them struggling. 888 Sport are giving odds of 24/13 for the Republic of Ireland to win against Switzerland.
