Jermain Defoe spent a total of nine years playing for Tottenham Hotspur over two spells, representing the north London club on 362 occasions in all competitions, scoring 143 goals and producing 32 assists. At the age of 39, the 57-cap England international retired from playing at the end of 2021/22.

Defoe played for Sunderland, West Ham, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Rangers and Toronto.

Apart from his exploits on the football pitch, he will be remembered for befriending Bradley Lowery, a young Sunderland who passed away after a long battle with cancer. Since then, Defoe contributed to numerous charity funds aimed at helping those affected by the vicious disease.

On Saturday, Spurs took on Rangers at the Ibrox in a pre-season friendly, and Defoe was obviously there to say hello to the current setups at both his former clubs.
