Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus says he greatly enjoys his on-field chemistry with playmaker Mario Goetze.
The Germany internationals have been excellent for much of the 2012/13 season and have helped Juergen Klopp’s men reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
“Mario is still a young player but he is so strong already,” Reus told Champions Matchday.
“He is a very intelligent player and he seems to know where I will run in many situations.
“It’s important to have somebody on the pitch who has the same ideas as you. And Mario has that. It’s great fun to play alongside him.”
Reus also revealed how easy he has found it to fit back in at his boyhood club since last year’s transfer from Borussia Moenchengladbach.
“It helped that I already knew some of the players from training and playing with the national team and I lived in Dortmund for many years,” he said.
“I played for the Dortmund youth team, so it was never a question for me whether I would fit in or not.”
Reus expressed his delight at playing in the Champions League, saying that it had been a dream of his for years.
“When I walked out onto the pitch for my first Champions League match and heard the anthem playing it was a dream come true,” he said.
“As a child I would sit in front of the TV on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings watching Champions League games and now I’m part of it.”
Dortmund denied Bayern Munich the chance to wrap up the Bundesliga title with a 2-1 victory over Stuttgart on Saturday.
