Spanish forward Jose Antonio Reyes may very well spend the next season as Portuguese giants Benfica Lisbon.
The 24-year-old currently plays for Atlético de Madrid, who seem willing to release the player on loan as the player no longer appears in the plans of manager Javier Aguirre.
The born Andalusian started his career at home town team Sevilla in 1999. Five years later he would move to Arsenal, where he would grow to be one of the more influential players.
Reyes reportedly suffered from home sickness in London, which may have been one of the reasons why the forward was loaned out to Real Madrid in 2006. With six goals in thirty appearances, the player failed to convince at Bernabeu.
Last year, Reyes tried his luck at Atlético, where he would fail to score a single goal in 26 appearances.
