Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark has been reassured Scotland international Jordan Rhodes will not be sold in January.
Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle has already rejected a four million-pound bid from Championship side West Ham, and he has made it clear to the prolific striker, who is admired by Tottenham and Newcastle United, he has no intention of cashing in on him.
“The chairman is a Town fan through-and-through and he’s told Lee that there is no way that he will allow Jordan to leave no matter how much money is put on the table,” a Huddersfield source told Goal.com.
“People seem to think that he will cave in before the end of the transfer window but he will stand firm.”
“Lee turned down the Leicester job earlier this season to get the club promoted (into the Championship) and the chairman is grateful for that and determined to keep his side of the bargain.”
“If Jordan was sold then that would be like pulling the rug from beneath Lee’s feet and it won’t happen. The owner has got a few bob to his name and doesn’t need to sell.”
Rhodes, 21, has netted 25 times from 22 League One appearances this term, helping Huddersfield into third place on the table.
