Franck Ribery has empathised with Bayern Munich team-mate Bastian Schweinsteiger, saying he hopes he will shake off his injury worries.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been plagued by physical problems in 2012, and was left out of Bayern’s squad for their pre-season trip to China due to his ongoing injury trouble.

“We all know Basti (Schweinsteiger). He always wants to give 100 per cent for the team. Last season was really difficult for him,” Ribery told TZ.

“He had a lot of injuries and that’s never easy. I have had my fair share of injuries as well in the past few years, so I know how he feels.

“I really hope that he will become fit again and finds a good physio in Munich.”

Schweinsteiger made only 22 Bundesliga appearances last term.
