Ricardo Rodriguez nears Wolfsburg exit

Switzerland international defender Ricardo Rodriguez is widely expected to leave Wolfsburg at the end of the current campaign, according to Blick.

The highly rated footballer has so far resisted temptation to leave Volkswagen Arena for greener pastures, but it appears he has decided to look for a new challenge.

A €25 million release clause will become active this summer, meaning there will be quite a few top clubs ready to make a move on the Switzerland hotshot.

Blick has learned that Rodriguez himself has decided the time has come to quit Wolfsburg and he is ready to consider offers from abroad.

The latest reports suggest that Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all keen on his services, but it remains to be seen whether they will step up their interest in the summer transfer window.

Ricardo Rodriguez is widely regarded as one of the most prolific full-backs in Europe, having managed 20 goals and 25 assists in 157 competitive appearances for Wolfsburg.
