Swiss defender Ricardo Rodriguez is set to be offered a new bumper deal at Wolfsburg, according to Bild.
The 22-year-old has become one of Europe’s most sought-after players following some impressive displays for club and country, and he is being heavily linked with a big club move.
But, given that his current deal is due to expire in June 2016, Wolfsburg are eager to tie him down to a new long-term contract.
The Wolves aim to double the player’s salary to €4 million per campaign in an attempt to ward off interest from abroad, while they also plan to include a €40 million release clause in the deal.
Ricardo Rodriguez has managed to establish himself as one of Europe’s top left-backs, and he has been in excellent form at Wolfsburg of late.
The Switzerland international scored impressive 8 goals in the last two Bundesliga campaigns, while setting up another 10 goals.
