Speaking to the press ahead of West Ham’s Europa League win over Rapid Vienna on Thursday, Declan Rice made it perfectly clear he was 100% focused on playing for his current team and manager.
Rice has been heavily linked with Chelsea in the past and more recently, with Manchester United who see a high-quality defensive midfielder as the last missing part of the puzzle to seriously contend for the Champions League and the Premier League titles again. His stock has risen very high indeed since his superb exploits for England at the Euros this summer, and the Hammers are believed to be holding out for an offer of over £100m before even thinking about a sale.
The 22-year-old is adamant he isn’t thinking about a transfer either.
“We’ve spoken about it lots in the past,” said the 22-year-old. “Everyone knows how I feel about West Ham and how I feel about playing under the manager and what it’s like playing with the group of players I’m playing with.
“You can see how happy I am on the pitch, I love playing for this team and this manager. Honestly, it’s such a great place to be around at the moment. With the results and how well we’re doing, it makes it that bit more special.”
