Richarlison has signed a new long-term contract with Everton, the Merseyside club have confirmed.
Only 16 months after his arrival from Watford for around £35 million, the Brazilian forward has been handed a fresh deal, set to keep him at Goodison Park until the summer of 2024.
A few days ago, club’s sporting director Marcel Brands gave an interview published on their official website, revealing, among other things, that an agreement with Richarlison had been reached. The conclusion of the negotiations and his signature on the contract will certainly come as a welcome boost for the Blues as they prepare to take a short trip across Stanley Park in Liverpool to face the Champions League holders on Wednesday evening.
The 22-year-old has so far scored 20 goals in 54 games in the blue shirt, obviously enough to convince the club hierarchy of his worth. For his part, the player said he intends to stay at Everton for a long time, pointing out that it was with this club that his performances earned him his international debut only two months after arriving there.
