Inter are set to cash in on midfielder Ricky Alvarez in the January transfer window, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Given that Wesley Sneijder is set to leave the club in January, the Neroazzurri are eager to sign a high-quality replacement and it appears they will have to splash the cash.
Corinthians midfielder Paulinho remains the number one target, but with his value constantly increasing, Inter might need to offer around €18 million to get their man.
Club officials plan to raise much of the needed funds through the sale of Ricky Alvarez.
The Argentine midfielder, who joined the club in a €9.5 million deal from Velez Sarsfield, has utterly failed to prove his worth at Giuseppe Meazza and is now nearing the exit door.
With Arsenal, Porto, Schalke and Galatasaray all keen, the Neroazzurri plan to raise around €11 million from the sale of Alvarez.
Meanwhile, they have also been linked with a move for Lazio veteran Tommaso Rocchi, who could arrive as a back-up for Diego Milito.
