Birmingham defender Liam Ridgewell insisted Thursday he is ready to pen a new deal with the Premier League side.
The defender, who was reported to have put in a transfer request, said: “I don’t want to leave Birmingham, of course not. We’ve had a good season, we’re doing well – and I’m enjoying it here.”
“I’ve left the new contract down to my agent. It’s easier for me to concentrate on my game, the football, and let the contract take care of itself.
“Hopefully we can come to some sort of agreement and we can get it signed.”
Ridgewell is looking for Birmingham to end the season on a successful note and sustain an unbeaten home record stretching back to September.
“We have got to try and finish the season as high as we can in the Premier League,” he said.
“We are in a great position (ninth) and have just got to try and catch Everton, who are above us, instead of looking backwards. It will be fantastic if we can stay unbeaten at home for the rest of the season.”
