Goalkeeper Nick Rimando became the hero as Real Salt Lake managed to win the MLS Cup on Sunday.
Rimando was named MLS Cup Most Valuable Player after having made two big saved in the penalty kick shootout against the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Rimando made three saves in the shootout in the Eastern Conference Championship clash with Chicago Fire just one week earlier.
“I think me and all the guys knew that if it came down to penalty kicks we were confident just going back to last week,” Rimando said. “We handled business in Chicago.”
