Juan Roman Riquelme has finally agreed to sign a new deal with Boca Juniors, thus signaling his intention to end his career at La Bombonera.

The club legend will sign a four-year contract worth around 1.3 million euros per season.

The Argentine was heavily linked with a move to either Brazil or Europe after the contract negotiations with Boca stalled but after almost two months, the two sides have reached an agreement that will see the playmaker remain in his boyhood club.

The news will certainly delight all of Boca fans, who largely idolize Riquelme and who even took his side in the confrontation with La Bombonera’s darling Diego Armando Maradona.
