Mallorca officials have contacted former Barcelona star Rivaldo in an effort to acquire his services.
The Brazilian was seen in Palma de Mallorca yesterday with his agent and the club representatives and it looks as the transfer is close to being completed.
The initial salary demands of 2 million euros per season were a bit high for Mallorca but the two sides are expected to reach an agreement during the next 24 hours.
Mallorca boss Lorenzo Serra Ferrer trained Rivaldo in Barcelona and the pair is thought to have an excellent understanding, which is one of the reasons why he offered him a chance to return to the big stage.
The 38-year-old player spent last two years in Uzbek club Bunyodkor, scoring 33 goals in 53 appearances, thus showing he still hasn’t lost his touch but the return to La Liga will certainly be a real test for a player well past his prime.
