Argentine giants River Plate have revealed they are prepared to listen to offers for star defender Eder Fabian Alvarez Balanta.
The 20-year-old has been linked with Barcelona and Napoli over the past few weeks, and it appears he could be moving clubs in the January transfer window.
River Plate vice-president Omar Solassi has admitted that cashing in on the Colombian is a realistic possibility.
“We will listen to offers for Balanta, of course. But, we have not received any from Barcelona,” Solassi told Esports COPE.
“I think Tata Martino should like Balanta. He has a very good taste and knows how to choose.
”(The price) is about €15 million, he is a great player with great future.”
It is believed that Barcelona are seriously considering a move for the Colombian defender, and they are unlikely to be put off by the River’s asking price.
Eder Fabian Alvarez Balanta is widely regarded as one of South America’s hottest prospects even if he has just 17 league appearances behind him.
Meanwhile, Barcelona continue to impress even with Leo Messi and few other players on the sidelines, and they are 2/9 to defeat Osasuna next weekend and keep their 100% record in La Liga intact.
