River Plate reject Palacios to Real talk

“He has not been sold, but there is an interest from Real Madrid in Palacios. The Real Madrid sporting director spoke to [River Plate sporting director Enzo] Francescoli regarding their interest on the player, and we will speak further along. But he hasn’t been sold”.

Those are the words of River Plate president Rodolfo D’Onofrio, who has insisted that Exequiel Palacios has not been sold to Real Madrid as of yet. Many are expecting the deal to go through imminently, but it appears as if there’s still work to be done before it gets pushed over the line.

Real have their finger in a number of different pies so to speak from a transfer window perspective, and it’ll be interesting to see how many players they’re actually able to bring in both during January and next summer. When it comes to Palacios, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are the headline clubs in a parade of other top European sides that are also invested in the idea of signing him.
