Napoli are considering January move for River Plate defender Eder Fabian Alvarez Balanta, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.
Rafael Benitez is determined to add another central defender to his ranks in the winter, and he has been linked with Martin Skrtel and Javier Mascherano.
However, with both defenders turning out to be unrealistic targets, the Azzurri are set to turn their attention to River Plate stopper Eder Balanta.
The left-footed defender is seen as a hot prospect for the future and Napoli officials believe he would be a great addition to the squad at Stadio San Paolo.
The only problem is that River Plate currently value the 20-year-old at whopping €15 million.
Eder Balanta, 20, has so far made 17 league appearances for the Argentine giants, scoring 2 goals in the process and the interesting thing is he started all of those matches and was only substituted on two occasions.
