River Plate harbour hopes of securing the signature of Valencia star Enzo Perez, according to Spanish media outlet Superdeporte.
The transfer window in Argentina does not close until 21st February and the Monumental outfit plan to make the 30-year-old their marquee signing ahead of the new Copa Libertadores campaign.
River Plate are reportedly ready to offer around €10 million for the experienced footballer, but that is unlikely to prove enough.
Perez has seen Sevilla and clubs from China cast admiring glances his way during the January transfer window, but he rejected the approaches as he wanted to remain at Mestalla.
The former Estudiantes de la Plata star has a deal until June 2019 with los Che, and he remains an important member of the squad.
Perez has spent last two tears at Mestalla, going on to make 49 La Liga appearances having joined the club from Benfica.
