Gonzalo Higuain’s future has been part of the transfer rumour mills quite often in the past few years and it seems it will continue to be like that in the future. The Argentine was first mentioned in the conversation for potentially joining Athletic Bilbao, due to having some Basque origins, but it turned out that was not enough for Athletic to consider him.
Juventus forward was then linked with a move to DC United, where his older brother Federico is playing and that seems far fetched for now as well. And then there is Higuain’s former club River Plate, who will try everything they can to sign Juventus striker. But at River, club officials are realising it will not be possible to sign Higuain this summer, as that would simply be too expensive for them.
According to Calciomercato, the Argentine giants are creating a plan where they would sign Higuain in the summer of 2021, ahead of the 2021-22 season.
