Monaco striker Emmanuel Riviere is expected to complete a move to Newcastle in the coming days, L’Equipe has revealed.
The Magpies turned their attention towards the French striker after acquiring the rights of midfielder Remy Cabella from Montpellier and they seem to be closing in on his signature.
L’Equipe understands that the deal should be completed in the next few hours, with Newcastle having agreed to pay around €9 million.
The St James’ Park outfit are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements following the departure of Loic Remy and they seem to believe the Monaco starlet will be a good replacement for his compatriot.
Emmanuel Riviere joined the Principality club from Toulouse in January 2013 and has since scored a total of 14 goals in 44 league outings.
The 24-year-old has yet to fully realise his undoubted potential, but he seems to have what it takes to succeed in English Premier League.
