Robben drops Juventus hint
Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has added fuel to speculations liking him with a summer move to Juventus.
The Dutchman has a contract until June 2013 at Alianz Arena, but he has been linked with a summer exit recently.
Juventus were just one of the clubs that showed interest in his services and now the player admits he is tempted by the prospect of joining the Bianconeri.
“The interest of a great club like Juventus is always pleasing,” Robben told Sky Sport Italia after the Champions League win over Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
“Juventus have had a great season, they are looking to rebuild and they have a team with a great future.
“I’m very happy at Bayern, but I still haven’t signed a contract extension and you never know what will happen in football.”
If Robben fail to sign a contract extension before the season is over, Bayern chiefs could decide to cash in on their star player in the summer, so as to avoid losing him for free a year later.
Joe Cole wants Lille stay
English midfielder Joe Cole has vowed to stay at Lille after his loan deal expires at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old joined Lille on season-long loan from Liverpool at the start to the season and has enjoyed a lot of success at Stade Lille Metropole.
The French club are currently paying just one third of his €430,000 monthly wage, with the Reds covering the remaining amount.
With star player Eden Hazard set to leave the club at the end of the season, les Dogues are hoping to make Joe Cole’s transfer permanent and the player admits he would prefer to stay at Lille.
“I would like (to stay), but it’s not in my hands. I have not spoken to anyone at Liverpool,” Cole said at a press conference.
Lille currently sit in third place, seven points adrift of leaders Montpellier and five behind Paris Saint-Germain, but Cole believes the title bid is not over.
“We need to defeat these two teams. If we win our last six games, it is possible. But only if we win all.”
Newcastle keeping tabs on Sigurdsson
Newcastle are weighing up summer bid for Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, The Sun reports.
The attacking midfielder joined Swansea City on loan in January and has had an instant impact at Liberty Stadium.
The 22-year-old scored 7 goals in 14 Premier League games for the Swans, thus attracting a lot of attention from big European clubs.
The Welsh side are desperate to keep hold of the Icelandic midfielder, but it is highly unlikely they will be able to match Hoffenheim’s £8 million valuation.
The Sun claims that Newcastle plan to take advantage of the situation and attempt to sign the player at the end of the season.
Sigurdsson largely impressed Newcastle boss Alan Pardew when the two sides met two weeks ago and the highly rated manager believes the player would be a great addition to the squad at St James Park.
