New Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is keen on taking Arjen Robben to Old Trafford with him once they are finished competing for the Netherlands in this summer’s World Cup finals, according to the Express.
Robben, who in the absence of United striker Robin van Persie captained the Dutch side to victory over Chile in Sao Paolo on Monday, has been one of the stand out performers in Brazil with three goals in his three appearances so far.
Like international teammate Wesley Sneijder, another player linked with a move to Old Trafford, Robben has won league titles in four different countries; PSV Eindhoven in his home country, Real Madrid in Spain, Chelsea in England and most recently Bayern Munich in Germany where he currently plies his trade.
The Netherlands were not among the favourites going in to the tournament, but are now priced at just 8/1 to lift the trophy in Rio De Janeiro on July 13th.
