Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben says he cannot wait to return to full fitness and is eyeing an injury free second half of the season.

The Netherlands international returned to action on Saturday after almost two months on the sidelines due to a groin injury.

While the former Chelsea and Real Madrid attacker is not yet 100 percent fit, he is eager to make an impact in the second half of the season.

“I want to have played an important role for the team by the time the trophies are handed out,” Robben told the club’s official website.

“The critical thing is regaining my rhythm. That’s what I’ll be concentrating on, even though we don’t have many matches left until the winter break. Once we’re back from the holidays, I’m going to go for it. I’m already looking forward to it.”

“I’m coming closer and closer to 100 percent again, but things went quicker last season. It’s been different this time. I’ve hardly trained but I’m already starting matches,” said Robben, who played 76 minutes in the 3-1 win over Villarreal in Group A of the Champions League on Wednesday.
