It looked like one of the many false rumours that dominated the transfer window but Barcelona was truly interested in Arjen Robben.

`There was some interest from Barca but I think a transfer was impossible,` Robben said to FC Groningen TV.

The Dutch winger, that moved to Bayern Munchen instead, thinks his former club would`ve never sold him to arch-rival Barcelona.

Spanish media already reported that Robben had a clause in his contract with Madrid that prevented him to sign for another Spanish club.

The Dutch international was glad to leave Real after two years: `At Madrid, everything is politics. Every coach has to do what the president tells him to do and I couldn`t stand it any longer.`

`I don`t want to say too much about it but on the outside Real looks great and magical but on the inside it`s a lot less exciting,` the 26-year old concluded.
