Robben set for Bayern stay

The Metro understands that Arjen Robben has dismissed rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United by stating that he wishes to remain at Bayern Munich.

The Netherlands international was one of the stand out performers for his country at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil under United manager Louis van Gaal leading to suggestions that the pair could reunite at Old Trafford.

However, the 30 year old is certain that he will remain with Bundesliga champions for the foreseeable future.
Robben moved to Bayern in the summer of 2009 having already won league titles in his native country, England and Spain.

He has made one hundred and seventy-four appearances in all competitions for the German side, and scored his ninety-third and ninety-fourth goals for the club in Tuesday evening’s 7-1 win over Roma.

Bayern, who won the Champions League in 2013, are joint favourites with holders Real Madrid to reclaim the trophy at a price of 10/3.
