Arjen Robben is closing in on a new contract at Bayern Munich, according to ESPN.
The Netherlands international has eighteen months remaining on his current deal, but is set to extend his stay until 2017.
Robben himself has confirmed to German newspaper Bild that talks with the Bundesliga leaders are at an advanced stage, as well as denying that his wage demands were slowing negotiations down.
The 30 year old is one of the highest earners at the Allianz Arena, but has said that the amount he is paid is not relevant.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid man believes that ‘acknowledgement and appreciation’ are the key factors in deciding whether or not to commit to the cause.
The midfielder has made twenty-two appearances in all competitions so far this season, scoring fourteen times, and is priced at 9/2 to open the scoring as Pep Guardiola’s side take on Nurnberg on Saturday afternoon.
