Robben wants Bayern stay

Netherlands winger Arjen Robben says he could finish his career at Bayern Munich, who he claims are the biggest club in the world.

The 30-year-old joined the Bundesliga giants from Real Madrid in 2009 and has enjoyed a successful stint at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern have won nine trophies since Robben signed for the club, including two Bundesliga titles and last season’s UEFA Champions League success.

And the former Chelsea star would be happy to remain at Bayern for the rest of his playing days.

“It could very well be that Bayern are my last club,” Robben told Bild.

“We have an amazing team and I am happy here. The future is looking bright. I want to win a few more titles and I’m at the perfect club to achieve this.

“Plus I can’t really move up any more. You always want to play for a bigger club when you’re young, but there’s no bigger club than Bayern.

“I already played for Chelsea and Real Madrid at a young age, but I play for the best club in the world now and can no longer make a step up.”

Robben also revealed that a contract extension is on the cards, with his current deal ending in 2015.

“We will have one more meeting and it will all be done then if we’re all happy with it,” he added.

“Both parties have the intention to renew and it’s a matter of details now.

“There’s definitely no problem about wages like I read somewhere. That’s nonsense.”
