Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has informed Bayern Munich of his desire to leave the Bundesliga champions this summer, his agent Pini Zahavi confirmed.
The 29-year-old superstar striker wants a new challenge in his career and is reportedly ready to quit Bayern Munich four years after his arrival from Borussia Dortmund.
The seven-time Polish Player of the Year has enjoyed a fruitful spell with the Bavarian giants establishing himself as one of world’s most prolific strikers. During the last season in the Bundesliga, Lewandowski netted 29 goals in 30 league games, which is only a goal shy from the tally he achieved over the past two seasons, successively.
His advisor Pini Zahavi – who was responsible for seeing through Neymar’s world-record €222 million transfer to PSG – is hoping that Bayern Munich officials will understand his client’s position, adding that Lewandowski is not motivated by money.
“Everyone at the club know about his desire to leave. Robert feels a change is needed and they should understand his situation. After all, they all had great careers themselves (Uli Hoenes and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge)”, Zahavi was quoted by German outlet Bild.
Robert Lewandowski’s contract with Bayern Munich runs until 2021.
