Brazil international Robinho has revealed his desire to leave Real Madrid having supposedly agreed a deal to move to West London according to Setanta Sports.
Reports in the Spanish press on Sunday, claim that the 24 year old held talks with Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatovic this week and made plain his wish to swap the Spanish capital for its English equivalent.
“I want to leave Real Madrid,†Robinho confirmed.
The player’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro, had previously cast doubt over the feasibility of a transfer reputedly worth in the region of a world record £48 million, conceding Real are reluctant to part with one of their prized assets.
However, they look to have a fight on their hands following the player’s most recent revelation.
With a deal now apparently in place following a recent meeting between Ribeiro and Roman Abramovich, and Robinho making his wishes clear, the green light from Madrid looks to be all that is needed.
He contributed eleven goals and fourteen assists for Madrid in the 2007-08 La Liga season.
