Robinho: We are still negotiating with Chelsea

Brazilian forward Robinho insists there are still negotiations ongoing between his club Real Madrid and Chelsea.

“I have a contract with Real Madrid now, but we are still negotiating with Chelsea,” Robinho told globoesporte.

Robinho is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge and has asked to leave Real Madrid in order to join the Premiership side.

He continued: “A lot of things are being published and they are not the truth.

“It is not true that I said that I was going to apologise to the press.

“We are working to seal my future, nothing else.”

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon said yesterday that he believes the Brazilian has just been badly advised.

“I think it’s normal that a player says that he wants to leave and in the case of Robinho I accept that as being totally normal,” Calderon told Marca.

“It seems to me that it’s a mistake, but it’s his problem.

“I think that his representatives are advising him very badly and I have a lot of faith in the lad.

“I believe he has a lot of quality and could be successful here. But I say it again that I have to defend the interests of this club in the best manner possible.”
