Foxsports.com today reports that Chelsea could finally be set to sign Robinho after the Brazilian’s agent revealed the playmaker’s Real Madrid career was about to end.ÂÂ
The Blues head coach Luiz Scolari has been a long-time admirer of the Brazilian international and in so doing has urged his new club to persistently track the forward for much of the summer.ÂÂ
The Spanish champions were initially keen to keep the 24-year old and Chelsea were not willing to match their heavy valuation.
However, Robinho recently admitted he was desperate to leave the Bernabeu and secure a move to Chelsea, even handing in a written transfer request and Real responded by saying they would let him leave.
His agent Wagner Ribeiro said in the Daily Mirror, “The deal is about to be reached,”
“Robinho’s cycle in Spain has come to an end and he is looking forward to a new project.”
Reports suggest that Robinho will travel to London this week to discuss personal terms ahead of a proposed £28 million move.
