Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega has revealed that he plans to quit DW Stadium at the end of the season.
The Colombian forward was heavily linked with a January exit from the club, but the Latics eventually decided to hold on to their star player.
With tough survival battle in front of his side, boss Roberto Martinez didn’t want to stay without his key player and the club owners respected his wish.
However, that only means that the 26-year-old will be at the club for another few months as he plans to leave DW Stadium when his contract expires in the summer.
“It’s sure that I won’t play anymore for them after this season,” Rodallega told The People. “This will be my last three months with Wigan.”
Rodallega claims that he already has several interesting offers on the table.
“I’m already talking with other teams, but I won’t name them. I must respect Wigan.
“Wigan have received many offers for me, but they always said no. I want to leave Wigan with the team having avoided relegation.
“I would love that Wigan fans recognise my effort when I leave the club in May.”
Rodallega joined Wigan three years ago from Mexican side Necaxa and has since developed into a key member of the squad.
Solid Premier League showings saw the player attract interest from clubs like Liverpool and Queens Park Rangers, but the Latics were not interested in selling their star forward.
