With Steve Bruce widely expected to get the sack at Newcastle United any day now, various managerial names have been linked with taking charge of the team at the club recently purchased by the Saudi-backed Public Investment Fund. One of them is Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers, but Sky Sports are reporting that the 48-year-old isn’t interested in any offer that would see him leave the King Power Stadium.
Bruce managed to guide Newcastle to Premier League survival in the last two seasons, but after their poor start to the current campaign (they are second from the wrong end of the table with three points from seven matches), it’s widely believed that the new owners intend to replace him soon. But Rodgers, who was in charge at Swansea City, Liverpool and Celtic at various stages of his career, believes there is still a lot to be achieved at Leicester. Since his appointment in February 2019, the Foxes have moved closer to the top-end of the table though they are yet to make an appearance in the Champions League.
