Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has dismissed speculation that he is set to make a move for Mario Balotelli, according to the Mail Online.
The Merseyside club, who are on the lookout for new striker after selling star man Luis Suarez to Barcelona last month, had been linked with the former Manchester City man, who is currently plying his trade in Italy with AC Milan.
Queens Park Rangers’ Loic Remy had looked set to secure a move to Anfield, though the Reds pulled the plug at the last minute after the French international failed his medical.
Balotelli has been with Milan for the past eighteen months, scoring thirty goals in fifty four appearances across all competitions, while he bagged the winner against England in Italy’s opening match at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
Liverpool face Southampton at Anfield in their opening game of the season a week on Saturday, and can be backed at 4/11 to take all three points.
