Rodgers rules out Origi return

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has ruled out bringing back Divock Origi from his loan, according to the Express.

The Reds paid Lille £10m to secure the striker’s services in the summer, but immediately loaned him back to the Ligue 1 side, for whom he has scored four times in all competitions so far this season.

With Daniel Sturridge ruled out for a further six weeks and Mario Balotelli failing to impress since arriving on Merseyside, last season’s runners up are drastically short on fire-power.

However Rodgers will not look to bring the 19 year old, who scored for Belgium at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil, in to the fold ahead of schedule.

Having fallen just short of winning a first league title since 1990 last season, Liverpool are currently fifteen points behind leaders Chelsea ahead of Sunday’s trip to Crystal Palace, where the away win can be backed at 10/11.
