Rodgers ruling out Carroll return in January

The Daily Mail is today reporting that despite Liverpool’s lack of strikers at the moment due to injury – Brendan Rodgers will not be re-calling Andy Carroll from his loan spell at West Ham United.

Carroll cannot be called back to Anfield until January and West Ham will want to keep him for the entire season as was agreed, but with the Reds only have Luis Suarez as a recognised forward to call upon for Saturday’s match again Reading – some were suggesting the Geordie would be on his way back to Merseyside.

However, Rodgers has ruled that move out and insists that the club will doing business in the New Year, but Carroll will be staying at Upton Park until the summer, at least.

There have been a number of players linked with the English Premier League giants, and fans at Anfield are sure to want several front-men joining the club.

Fabio Borini was the latest setback for Rodgers as he was ruled out of action for three months, so now an injury to Suarez would be disaster for Liverpool.

Whatever happens though, it does not look as though Andy Carroll will be heading back to the club in January.
