Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted that he will make a number of additions to his squad this summer, according to the Daily Star.
The Reds finished second in the Premier League last season, two points behind Manchester City, and gained numerous plaudits for their attacking playing style.
However, Rodgers insists that the Merseyside club cannot afford to rest on their laurels, as they prepare to embark on a campaign that will include participation in the Champions League for the first time in five seasons.
Southampton captain Adam Lallana has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield, while potential bids for Manchester City midfielder James Milner and Chelsea’s soon to be out-of-contract left back Ashley Cole have also been mooted.
Liverpool, whose wait for a league championship now moves into a twenty-fifth year, can be backed at a price of 13/2 to finish top of the table next season.
