According to a recent report from Kicker, Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri is not interested in the possibility of joining German giants Bayern Munich this summer – to the point where he has even rejected the idea himself. The Spanish international is said to have his heart set on a switch to Manchester City, who are more than willing to pay his release clause of £62 million. Even if they don’t pay that amount it feels like Rodri is going to try and force the move through one way or another, as he aims to take the next step up in his career.
Rodri has long since been viewed as one of the most exciting midfielders in European football today, and understandably, City are fascinated by the prospect of bringing him to the club. On the other hand Pep would be taking him away from a potential move to Bayern Munich, who are aiming to rebuild their squad following the loss of a few key veterans.
