Atletico Madrid are considering a summer bid for Benfica hotshot Rodrigo Moreno, according to Marca.
Los Colchoneros have signed Mario Mandzukic as a replacement for Diego Costa, but they are in need of few more attacking footballers as David Villa, Diego Ribas and Adrian Lopez also left.
And while the La Liga side are currently in talks with Benfica over the signing of goalkeeper Jan Oblak, they have also enquired about forward Rodrigo Moreno.
Having been purchased by an investment fund owned by new Valencia chairman Peter Lim, the Spaniard was widely tipped for a switch to Mestalla, but Atletico are apparently ready to challenge los Che for the player’s signature.
They are basically hoping to complete a double swoop for Oblak and Rodrigo, in which case Joshua Guilavogui and Silvio would be sold to Benfica.
Rodrigo, 23, was in excellent form last season, having bagged 18 goals in 43 competitive fixtures for the Eagles.
