Top leagues across Europe are racing towards a conclusion, with Serie A currently being the one that still has the most left to play for. With a handful of games remaining there’s still a whole lot to be determined both at the top and the bottom of the table, and last night, we took another step closer towards figuring it all out as Roma drew 2-2 with Inter Milan.
Now, it’s time for us to take a look at what exactly went down in the highly anticipated game.
Roma can’t hold on
While Roma may have a handful of top stars within their ranks, we saw their biggest problem on full display last night: their inability to hold on when it matters the most. They were on the verge of a huge three points against the title contender, but when push came to shove, they couldn’t keep it tight enough at the back. If they want a top four spot and perhaps even more next season, they need to improve in this department.
Inter aren’t ready
The pressure has been on Inter Milan for weeks now as they attempt to make a real push for the title, and it’s not like Juventus haven’t given them any opportunities to close the gap. Alas, even though they salvaged a point last night, they needed a win to really turn up the heat – and they simply couldn’t do it.
Lukaku’s confidence
With the weight of the world on his shoulders, Romelu Lukaku was able to score from the penalty spot and secure a late point for Inter Milan. The act alone may not seem like much, but it just goes to show that the Belgian clearly has his confidence back after losing it in the final few months of his tenure with Manchester United.
