With a golden opportunity to extend on their top-four buffer, a high-flying Roma will make the trip to the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Fiorentina may have left it late to snatch the most dramatic of points off of league leaders Inter Milan over the weekend, it does not cover what has been a worrying run of form for Vincenzo Montella’s men. Slipping out of the top half of the standings and without a Serie A victory since the 30th of October, their European ambitions appear to have gone up in smoke and they have lost four of their last five appearances. A huge part of the Purples’ continued issues nearing closer to Christmas has been their inconsistencies on home soil. Friday’s hosts have failed to win any of their last four matches at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, including a shock 1-0 defeat against Leece last month.

As for the visitors, battling from behind to snatch a 3-1 win against SPAL over the weekend and with a spot in the knockout stage of this year’s Europa League in the bag, the mood in Roma’s camp should be on the rise. Now holding a three-point buffer in the top-four and in pole position to secure a Champions League return for the Stadio Olimpico, Paulo Fonseca’s men have won three of their last four Serie A matches and are yet to taste defeat across any format since the start of November. With a growing reputation for their form in the final third, we’re backing Friday’s guests to come away with all three points this weekend.
