AS Roma appear to have won the chase for Marseille forward Andre Ayew, French media outlet L’Equipe can reveal.
The Ghana star was followed by a number of high-profile clubs as he is set to leave OM on a free transfer, and the latest reports suggest he decided to join the Giallorossi.
Ayew has made a verbal agreement with the Serie A side to sign a long-term contract if they qualify for next year’s Champions League.
Roma currently sit five points clear of fourth-placed Napoli and are priced at 19/10 to see off Inter Milan later today.
Even if the Giallorossi were on the lookout for a centre forward, they didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to sign Ayew, who will be vying with Adem Ljajic, Juan Manuel Iturbe, Gervinho and Alessandro Florenzi for two wing positions.
Ayew has scored 8 goals in 24 league appearances in what will be his final season at Stade Veldorome.
