Roma agree deal for Brazilian striker

AS Roma have all but agreed to sign Brazilian striker Luiz Adriano from Shakhtar Donetsk, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Giallorossi were unable to strike a deal with the Ukranian side in the January window, but with the forward’s contract due to expire in less than a year, they should have no problems adding him to their ranks in the summer.

Roma have already agreed a contract with Luiz Adriano and they will wrap up the transfer even if they happen to miss out on Champions League qualification.

The Giallorossi signed Seydou Doumbia in January, but with Mattia Destro unlikely to return to Stadio Olimpico and Francesco Totti nearing the end of his playing days, another centre forward will be arriving at the end of the season.

Roma may have slipped to third in the standings, but they still hold a seven-point lead over fourth-placed Napoli, and are 2/5 to see off Atalanta next weekend.
