Italian giants AS Roma have reached an agreement to sign Paraguayan forward Sergio Diaz from Cerro Porteno, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Giallorossi reportedly had a €10 million proposal accepted for the 17-year-old footballer, although he will be allowed to remain in Paraguay for a while longer.
According to the latest reports, AS Roma will not be adding the striker to their ranks before January 2017.
Sergio Diaz is widely regarded as one of South America’s hottest prospects, and he has already managed to prove his worth at senior level.
After coming through the youth ranks at Tacuary and Cerro Porteno, the youngster went on to score 13 goals in first 41 league appearances, showing incredible maturity for his age.
As a result, he has clearly done enough to secure a lucrative move to Stadio Olimpico and another year or two in Paraguay’s top flight should help him gain valuable experience before he embarks on a new challenge.
