Roma and Fiorentina are locked in the battle for Palermo playmaker Josip Ilicic, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Slovenian midfielder is one of the most sought-after player in Italian Serie A and he seems to be ready to leave the Rosanero for a bigger club.
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has already hinted that his star player could be sold in the summer, with an offer in the region of €10 million likely to prove enough.
Roma appear to be leading the race for Ilicic, given that sporting director Walter Sabatini has an excellent relationship with Zamparini, but Palermo chairman plans to sell the Slovenian to the highest bidder.
Fiorentina and Dynamo Kiev are also believed to be keen, so we could see a real bidding war for the player’s services in the summer.
Josip Ilicic, 25, has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 10 goals in 29 Serie A appearances, and netting in his last five league fixtures.
