AS Roma and Hamburger SV are among clubs showing interest in Iceland captain Aron Einar Gunnarsson, according to Sport Bild.
The 27-year-old had an important role to play as Iceland reached the Euro 2016 quarter-finals, and it is hardly surprising that top clubs are now casting admiring glances his way.
Bundesliga giants Hamburg have emerged as favourites for his signature, as they hope to continue the summer recruitment after adding the likes of Filip Kostic, Alen Halilovic and Bobby Wood to their ranks.
They could, however, face competition from AS Roma, who are not exactly spoilt for options in the middle of the park.
The good news is that Gunnarsson has another two years left on his deal with Cardiff City and is valued at mere €2.5 million.
His suitors HSV kick off the new Bundesliga campaign by playing host to Ingolstadt and they can be backed at 6/5 to claim maximum points.
