Roma back in for Rabiot
Italian giants AS Roma are set to rekindle their interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.
The talented midfielder was on the verge of agreeing a deal with the Giallorossi back in October, but he eventually decided to extend his deal at Parc des Princes.
Nevertheless, Roma are not giving up on his signature and sporting director Walter Sabatini is set to launch a fresh assault on the youngster.
Adrien Rabiot was relegated to the reserves as he refused to extend his deal that was due to expire in June 2015, while he also expressed his desire to leave in search of first team football.
The 19-year-old has since returned to the senior squad, but he has yet to make his first competitive appearance of the season.
Despite signing a new deal with the Saints, it would appear as though Rabiot would seriously consider any proposal from Stadio Olimpico.
Mascherano reveals Napoli interest
Barcelona star Javier Mascherano has moved to suggest that Napoli were showing interest in his services in the summer.
The Argentina hotshot has been repeatedly linked with a move to Stadio San Paolo as it is believed his former coach Rafael Benitez would be delighted to see him in Naples.
Mascherano has now admitted that he has spoken to the Spaniard about a switch to Italy, but there was never an official proposal from the Azzurri.
“I have a great relationship with Rafa,” Mascherano confessed to Onda Cero. “We often talk, and this summer I spoke to him about the possibility of joining him at Napoli.
“Benitez and Guardiola are the coaches to whom I owe my entire career, but no Italian team ever made a formal offer.”
Javier Mascherano was one of Argentina’s star performers at the 2014 World Cup and he continues to be an important player for club and country.
Johnson to snub Liverpool’s latest offer
Daily Mail has learned that England full-back Glen Johnson is not prepared to accept the latest contract offer from Liverpool.
The 30-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the current season and he has finally been offered a new two-year deal at Anfield.
However, with the new proposal worth £60,000 per week, or half of his current wage, the experienced defender is highly unlikely to extend.
Johnson is also unhappy with his status at the club having lost his place in the starting line-up to Javi Manquillo, and a summer exit appears on the cards.
According to Daily Mail, Italian giants AS Roma are showing interest in the player’s signature at the moment.
Glen Johnson has spent last five and a half years at Anfield having joined from Portsmouth, making 147 Premier League appearances.
