Roma and Bayern vying for Kurzawa; Firmino talks up big club move

hot-transfer-newsRoma and Bayern vying for Kurzawa

Sport Mediaset is reporting that AS Roma and Bayern Munich are locked in the battle for Monaco defender Layvin Kurzawa.

The two sides met last night in a Champions League match, with the Bavarians recording a 7-1 triumph at Stadio Olimpico, but the Giallorossi will have a chance to get revenge on the Bundesliga side.

Namely, the two clubs are showing interest in Monaco left-back Layvin Kurzawa and could make their moves as early as January.

The Giallorossi have been disappointed by the performances of summer signing Ashley Cole and they plan to sign the French defender as a long-term replacement.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich aim to increase competition for places at the back by adding Kurzawa to their ranks, with a €10 million offer being mooted.

The 22-year-old has largely impressed since Monaco returned to the elite division, making 37 league appearances and scoring 5 goals.

Firmino talks up big club move

Hoffenheim hotshot Roberto Firmino admits he is hoping to join a top European club in the near future.

The Brazilian forward has become one of the most sought-after players following some scintillating performances in German Bundesliga, but a big club move has yet to materialise.

Firmino has suggested that he is flattered by the reported interest, while revealing his favourite destinations.

“I am delighted with the interest of big clubs. This is nice and it’s a validation for me,” the 23-year-old told Sport Bild.

“(Real) Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern are already great teams.”

Firmino joined Hoffenheim from Figueirense back in January 2011, and has since bagged 32 goals in 115 Bundesliga matches.

The Bundesliga outfit somehow managed to keep hold of their star player, but a summer exit could be on the cards.

Cuadrado agrees new Fiorentina deal

Colombian winger Juan Guillermo Cuadrado is set to sign a new contract at Artemio Franchi, Tuttosport can reveal.

The highly rated footballer has agreed to extend his deal despite the heavy interest in his services, mostly because the new contract will also include a €35 million release clause.

Cuadrado will be tied to the club until June 2018, with his current salary set to be doubled to €2.5 million per campaign.

According to Tuttosport, the two parties have reached an agreement on the new deal, with only minor details left to be sorted.

The versatile footballer developed into a key player for Fiorentina since joining from Udinese, scoring 17 goals in 73 Serie A outings.

Having won the first two Europa League fixtures in style, Viola can be backed at 6/4 to defeat PAOK in Thessaloniki.
